Grosvenor's Café wins Quality Assurance Award
Grosvenor’s Café has been awarded the prestigious Quality Assurance award from the Taste Cheshire Quality Scheme.
Having undergone a mystery visit, Grosvenor’s Café was comprehensively marked on areas including cleanliness, hospitality, service and efficiency of the staff together with the quality of the food served and the use of local Cheshire and North West food.
“I am pleased that Grosvenor has embraced the good use of local produce across the garden centre. I have enjoyed their food on many an occasion and it is delicious,” commented Pam Billington, Skills and Productivity Executive, Visit Chester and Cheshire.
As fresh, local produce is particularly important at Grosvenor, both in the Café and the food department, supporting local farmers and producers is vital to Grosvenor’s success. Grosvenor’s commitment to local food is long standing and for the past 2½ years, the garden centre has hosted a monthly FARMA accredited Farmers’ Market.
“I am thrilled that we have received such recognition from Taste Cheshire by winning the Quality Assurance Award, particularly as our primary objective is to offer visitors to the Café the highest quality, locally produced, fresh, seasonal ingredients. We are delighted to add the Quality Assurance Award to our recent FARMA accreditation in the hope that these awards put Grosvenor on the map as a venue for a delicious, wholesome meal or snack,” commented Iain Wylie, managing director.
Following a complete refurbishment of Grosvenor’s Café just over 12 months ago, the Cafe now boasts an in-house bakery with freshly baked cakes available throughout the day. Together with seating for more than 270 visitors and a real emphasis on local, fresh and seasonal ingredients, visitors are assured that they only receive the highest quality food and know that the ingredients have been sourced from as local to the garden centre as possible.
Many of the regular ingredients can also be found in the food department so visitors are able to try the food in the Café and take it home to enjoy too.
